Greetings! I'm Mr. "Piplup the Piplup" PiplupRox Productions the Piplup, but you can call me Piplup!
I go by many other names too, such as Dr. Ivan Mikhailovich Portantov, and rarely by my older online handle, BouncingPiplup. I'm an aspiring game dev and artist!
You can find me posting nonsense videos on YouTube, sometimes streaming on Twitch, or saying absolute nonsense on Tumblr. Links to those are on the home page sidebar.
You can partially blame Eevee for the existence of this website lol
About me
My pronouns are he/him (cisgender), but I will accept neutral pronouns as well.
I'm American, yet use a lot of British English naturally as part of my lexicon, and my dialect is a mix of my native Chicagoan vowels, the Philadelphean lack of marry/merry/Mary merger, and random other quirks I've unintentionally absorbed through interactions with various people. If you see me spell things like "favourite", that's why.
I'm unapologetically Jewish and anti-Semitism in any form will not be tolerated here - I do hope peace can be achieved that benefits both sides equally.
I'm also semi-diagnosed Autistic, in that I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome back when that was still a respected medical term. I'm considering getting a diagnosis soon in case I need to dodge the draft should we go to war.
Fun fact that I like to use to mess with people
I do my digital art with a computer mouse. Not even a wireless one. My mouse is plugged into the back of my computer with a wire that audibly interferes with my speakers, and is wedged into plage by a stack of 800 index cards to make sure it has the right amount of slack. This is just the ghetto way I work lol. Maybe I'll take a picture of that some day.
Another unsettling fact about me
I've been playing Minecraft since 2012, but I only started playing Java Edition in 2014 (1.8.9, I believe). At that point, I'd never played any first-person computer games for more than like, five seconds, so I decided in my infinite wisdom to invent my own control scheme. For some reason.
So I grabbed a napkin and a pen and basically just wrote down random keys. So since then I've placed blocks with X, broken them with G, dropped items with H, etc. Conveniently, though, it means that I can control basically the entire game with just my left hand, and use my right hand for moving the mouse around exclusively. It's surprisingly comfortable.
I'm really into vintage technology and whatnot. I've got a turntable from the 70s, I have a globe that I dated to 1974, and the best pencil sharpener I own is a wall-mounted hand crank sharpener taken straight from the wall of my grandfather's school about 70-ish years ago from what I understand.
